So often I hear people say, “I don’t have a creative bone in my body.” Are you one of those people? Would you like to get inspired to create something? Here’s what I do to get inspired with diaper cakes. You can use the process with just about any creative endeavor.

Decide upon a theme. It’s rather like deciding upon a topic for an article, book or magazine. What is your focus? It can be seasonal. It can be decorative and focused on colors, shapes and textures. It can be babies, animals, cars, characters, or foods. It can be an event. It can be anything you want it to be!! If you need an extra mental push, Google your theme and choose for the results to be shown in images.

Gather your materials and begin. You’ll have a general idea of how you want the completed project to look. But, once you’ve begun, you’ll find that something doesn’t look quite the way you’d like and you’ll change it. That’s being creative, my friend! You might decide to discard a part or change its color or texture. Or, you might need to add something more.

Evaluate the completed project. Do you need to make further changes? Remember, this is your project and; therefore, it does not have to look like anything you’ve ever seen before. Don’t compare it against what others have done. Judge it solely on what you like. You are an individual, not a copy of anyone else. Let your project reflect that. It’s called personal style!

Here are some recent inspirations of my own.

Let's share wonderful websites and blogs about handmade baby products! Get inspired! Give a baby gift crafted with love. <3

Welcome to our new blog! Do you enjoy creating new things, especially baby items? Do you get excited and inspired by the creativity of others? So do I! On this blog, we’ll share wonderful websites and blogs to keep us happily crafting handmade baby items like baby booties, blankets or afghans, scrapbooks, photo bookmarks, hats, sacques or sweaters, bodysuits, and more! What better gift for a baby than a gift from the heart?

So, let’s get to it! This first photo of a crocheted alligator reminds me of the joy I had as a young mother eager to create some fun for my children. Little did I know then that my grandchildren would also enjoy this soft cuddly creature. Now that’s a fun heirloom!

Inspired fun!

Here is one more crocheted item. I love to crochet! I tried to knit once upon a time. In fact, the first and only project I ever created was a pair of bright orange slippers for my husband. We were dating at the time and I guess I was trying to impress him. He graciously accepted them. I wonder what ever happened to those slippers? Anyway, knitting was a bit frustrating for me with dropped stitches and having to be coordinated enough to handle two needles at once. Ha! Now you know why I love to crochet! One hook! I wonder if crocheting is quicker than knitting. What do you think? Ah, the one more crocheted item, here it is. Baby booties. When I think “baby”, I always think “baby booties”.

Classic Baby Booties

Now, let’s share some great handmade baby crafts! Enjoy! (*The products spotlighted are intended for inspirational purposes only.) I’ve decided to list only 5 sites per day; otherwise, I’d be doing this all day. I tend to get carried away with what I love doing.
